As you grow older and go through different phases of life you’ll develop new social circles. The new jobs you begin can help you to realize that you can get stuck in a particular groove of habits and activities. Whether you choose to stay in contact with specific social groups and friends over the course of time is your own choice. The reason I am writing and creating this post, is mainly due to the changes that occur when you graduate through various stages of life. After you jump through certain hoops and try to live life satisfying other people’s expectations, you may begin to become too complacent and too comfortable. What I wanted to create was a list of ideas to go out and explore for people who may have moved, re-located, or simply lost track of their social circles. With this list you may actually find some enticing activities to add to your weekly schedule to help you live a more fun and interesting lifestyle that will make you more pleasant to be around. Here is a list of activities to add to your weekly schedule: Join Salsa Dancing Doing a dance class or getting together for a regular dance at a club or restaurant is a great way to have fun and meet new people. The current age we live in is increasingly becoming more isolated with people searching for purpose and greater meaning. It isn’t uncommon for people to be alone or reclusive in our modern digital age due to the amount of distractions that are available at hand. With that said, it isn’t a surprise that our current generation has a higher rate of depression and suicide than any generation before. The question is, what is the issue with our modern world? Is it our working lifestyles or is it our failure to do the things that we feel will truly leave us feeling fulfilled? What many people really need and are seeking is a meaningful life. People have necessities which include powerful connections with other people. At the moment millions of Americans are suffering clinical depression each year. More and more studies are showing that exercise can be a very effective treatment method for depression. Furthermore counseling with cognitive-behavioral therapeutic techniques could potentially help alleviate symptoms of depression. Depression affects roughly 9.5% of the U.S. adult population each year, and it is estimated that approximately 17% of the U.S. population will suffer from a major depressive episode at some point in their lifetime.1,2 Depression has been ranked as the leading cause of disability in the United States, with over $40 billion being spent each year on lost work productivity and medical treatment related to this illness.3–6 Recent research suggests that between the years of 1987 and 1997, the rate of outpatient treatment for depression in the United States tripled and that health care costs related to this disorder continue to rise.7 Based on...

“Mind over matter what matters.” -The Grouch (Hip-Hop Rapper) In life you have three guarantees a body, a mind, and soul that you’re born with into this world. Unless you had an unfortunate accident that occurred that inhibits your ability to use your body and mind, we all have an incredible gift and potential that we should all be extremely grateful for. The body and mind can accomplish miraculous feats when you set your vision high. What most people fail to recognize is that the way a person uses both body and mind are not guaranteed to be effective. The biggest issue in our modern day technological age, is that a lot of people have become so lazy that they’ve forgotten how to fully utilize and engage both the mind and body. Despite the massive amount of distractions that our world has, it is still greatly dependent upon our mental growth of humanity as well as our general health and well-being of our bodies. If we happened to love people as much as we love technology, there wouldn’t be a disease left in this world. If people don’t find a way to get back to their true nature as human-beings, we easily become puppet slaves to our rapidly expanding technology that now controls many peoples minds and therefore lives. Although there is benefit with our modern down technology that helps make our lives easier and more productive in certain ways, we have all simultaneously become more disconnected in our modern living. The physical closeness to one another hasn’t changed but our mental and spiritual connections have become more distant....
